Imparting specialized knowledge by topic-related expert speakers on the following subject areas

  • Hypothermia and Avalanche Medicine (2 hours)
  • Radiation Damage to Skin and Eyes in the Mountains (2 hours)
  • Alpine Traumatology Part 1 (2 hours)
  • Local Cold Injuries (2 hours)
  • Internal Medicine (3 hours)
  • Medicine of High and Extreme Altitudes (4 hours)
  • High-Altitude Trekking and Mountaineering (2 hours)
  • Pre-Acclimatization (1 hour)
  • Limits of Performance in Alpine Sports at Various Altitudes (2 hours)
  • Orthopedic Diseases and Injuries in Mountaineering (2 hours)

Alpine Medical Practical Exercises

  • Initial Medical Care at the Accident Site
  • Medical Care in Emergency Bivouac
  • Rescue and Resuscitation after Avalanche Burial
  • Survival Strategies in Alpine Terrain
  • Hyperbaric Emergency Therapy in the Field

Alpinistic Training

This consists of imparting knowledge and skills for independently conducting ski, snowboard, or snowshoe tours. Tour planning, snow and avalanche science, orientation in theory and practice in small groups of max. 6 people per mountain guide.

The Austrian-German Alpine Physician Training, recognized worldwide by the UIAA (Union Internationale des Associations d’Alpinisme), IKAR (International Commission for Alpine Rescue), and ISMM (International Society for Mountain Medicine), can be completed once a year with the following qualifications: Diploma in Mountain Medicine and Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine.
