Logo ÖGAHM Austrian Society for Alpine Medicine

The following courses conclude with the Diploma in Alpine and High Altitude Medicine. This is a fully valid, approved continuing education diploma of the Austrian Medical Chamber.

At the initiative of, and in cooperation with, ÖGAHM, an ÖÄK Diploma in Alpine and High Altitude Medicine was introduced for members of the Austrian Medical Chamber.

For this diploma continuing education program, in addition to the mandatory theory courses at UMIT Tirol, continuing education hours from all ÖGAHM Alpine Doctors course formats (Alpine Sports and Medicine, International Courses in Alpine and High Altitude Medicine, etc.) can be credited. The category and number of creditable teaching units are listed in the respective course programs.

In addition, subject to the provisions and review by the Medical Academy, continuing education hours from courses offered by other organisers may also be credited.

Basic Theory Courses in Alpine and High Altitude Medicine

The theory modules A/B and C/D are offered at UMIT Tirol and take place in blocks of three days each. These courses are DFP-accredited. Participation in all four modules is mandatory to obtain the Diploma in Alpine and High Altitude Medicine of the Austrian Medical Chamber.
