3-day ice climbing course with a focus on ice climbing technique and belay technique, with medical focuses on initial care for ice climbing accidents.

The International Courses in Alpine Medicine (DIMM) are held in cooperation with the Alpinärzteschmiede. Registration for the course takes place via the Alpinärzteschmiede website.

Price: €590 incl. rental equipment and entry to the ice park, excluding half board at the Tauernhaus. A room contingent is reserved.

- Check-in at the hotel
- Equipment check, adjusting crampons
- Knot and equipment theory
- Approach to the ice park (approx. 20 min.)
First steps on ice
- Crampon and ice axe technique
- Hazard perception and safety
- Top-rope climbing and lowering
- General climbing technique
- Introduction to steep ice technique
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM Seminar: Traumatic injury patterns in ice climbing (Simon Euler)
Followed by dinner and debriefing with the mountain guides

8:30 AM Specific warm-up with climbing exercises
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Station-based training
- Medical first aid in icefall climbing
- Supervision: Physician Simon Euler and mountain guides
