The 28th issue of the specialist magazine analyse:berg has been completed in terms of content and design and is currently being printed. It will be dispatched after Easter, and you can look forward to an informative and exciting magazine!
The analyse:berg Winter 2024/25 issue covers the review period from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2024. It includes the winter disciplines of (ski) touring, off-piste and piste/ski route, as well as the interdisciplinary chapter on avalanches.
In addition to the well-known analyses of avalanche accidents, infographics on burial depths and burial times were created for the first time, as well as on the type of rescue (companion rescue or organised rescue) and rescue equipment (transceiver, probe, dog).
The publication provides a detailed overview of alpine accidents in Austria’s mountains and aims to increase alpine safety through well-founded analyses and statistical evaluations.
The key contents of this issue are:
Alpine accident statistics: analyses and infographics on the winter disciplines.
Packed with figures, data and facts from the ÖKAS accident database, analysed for the period from November 2023 to October 2024, with a focus on the winter disciplines as well as the interdisciplinary statistics of avalanche accidents.
Accident analysis: the Alpine Police and those involved report on and analyse accidents.
Selected accidents are presented by the Alpine Police officers who processed the cases, and in this issue two people involved report on their avalanche accident in Norway. The special aspect: one of them was buried 2 m deep and successfully resuscitated.
Specialist articles: experts report from their fields of expertise.
For example, how avalanche forecasters determine the danger levels, and why the same level often requires different behaviour in the terrain.
Interviews: in conversation with …
… the Bavarian Board for Alpine Safety (BayKurASi), Jörg Randl and Pauli Trenkwalder.
This and much more awaits you in the analyse:berg Winter 2024/25 issue. Available via the Austrian Board for Alpine Safety.
